The pawn-knight-rook checkmate combo

Today I used 6 minutes for the 5 examples, 4 were very easy and took around 15 seconds each, but the 5th was quite hard and I used 5 minutes to solve it. It shows a nice motive when a pawn, a knight and a rook can checkmate the king which has 2 pawns which block him.
Can you solve it? Can you post a comment on this post where you write how many minutes did you use?

I solved 5 checkmate examples with trainingbot. I used 3 minutes for the 5 checkmates.

I like most this 9 moves forced checkmate. Can you find the solution? :)

29.08.2010. Training with Alex

I slept very well around 10 hours long and got up at 8. I needed that, because over the week I got up at 5:30 am and went to sleep around midnight most of the days, because of social life We talked a lot and looked movies.

Around 10am I went to the Gellert-mountain and picked figs from the trees, also climbed some to get sweet, riped ones from the top. I enjoyed it very much. I ate a lot for lunch and filled a big box with figs for tomorrow.

At 13:30pm we went to the vegetarian festival with Gorge. Just catched the tram in the last second, before the door was closed.

I attended 2 lectures about healthy living and foods. They said, it is very important to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and whole foods. Stop eating, white bread, white sugar, coffee, black tea, smoking and alcohol. Fresh air, clean water and sunshine are good for us. Also very important to be healthy on all levels. We need harmony in our body, soul and spirit.

At 17:00 We met with Iza to talk, walk and pick figs on the Gellert-mountain. We had a great time together. She talked about the new novel She started to write.

We had a lesson with Axel between 19:00-20:15

He solved the checkmate from my last game, which I showed in the last blog post. Then He solved 3 examples from trainingbot. He was very fast. I think he arrived to a new level.

Then we analysed 2 of his last games and studied about the ideas of weak and strong squares. We studied also about exchange good pieces for bad pieces. About weak pawns and what to do if a player has a development advantage: Try to exchange pawns to open the position and try to attack the king and pawns, be aggressive! You need to win before the opponent develops and save the position.

In this game in the first 12 moves he played very well, like a master. Then made a mistake, but the opponent did not look it. Axel developed all of his pieces and got a winning knight in the center:

After the lesson I created a great dinner. I cooked potato with cabbage and spices, made salad from cabbage, onion and paprika with cumin, salt, lemon and sun seed oil. I made a dessert from wheat flakes with cinnamon. Then I wrote this blog and ate in the same time and also George arrived home and we talked a bit about the book stores and publishing.

I will finish this post, then I eat the dessert while read and go to sleep. Bye-bye, Have a great day!

Pretty checkmate with rooks

I played a 45 45 game with a player from Argentina and he gave me a very nice checkmate. I made a mouseslip with the rook and moved to g5 instead of g4 where I lost the echange and he played well the endgame. Wello done! :)

Chess free day

I had a chess free day today. I worked from 7:00 till 13:00 in the book warehouse, then went home and got a great lunch from Magdi, then Iza arrived and joined us to talk and eat. Magdi went to London. We had a nice time with Iza. We talked a lot, looked jobs on the net for her and then we watched a good movie. It was the "Knowing". I walked with Iza to her home and then I came back home. I go to sleep. Bye-bye :)
